Some might remember seeing a picture of these paddle boats posted on @everydayasia back in the early northern summer of 2014. Not much use for them come this time of year. Band-e-Amir – the lake on which they usually float in central Afghanistan – is partially frozen with barely a sole in sight for 50km or more.
