Portraits of Ahmad Shah Massoud the famous ordepending

Portraits of Ahmad Shah Massoud, the famous or—depending on the side you took in the Afghan wars of the 80s & 90s—infamous anti-Soviet, anti-Taliban commander & sometimes Minister of Defence are omnipresent in Kabul and across northern Afghanistan. I don't remember seeing this particular portrait before though. It hangs on a wall, set apart from numerous other more common versions at what was once Massoud's guest house, where he hosted visiting commanders and dignitaries in Astana, in the Panjshir Valley,
before his assassination on September 9, 2001. Handwritten on the print, in silver marker, "A gift to The Massoud Foundation, from Reza". Reza being Reza Deghati, the French-Iranian photographer best known for decades of work for National Geographic Magazine and particularly for that in Afghanistan.
