A roadside car wash on the Baghlan side of the Salang Pas

A roadside car wash on the Baghlan side of the Salang Pass—the near-4,000m pass that connects the Afghan capital Kabul with the northern provinces of Kunduz, Takhar, Balkh and more. Nearly three weeks ago, this road was used by more than 1,000 personnel from the Afghan National Security Forces as they attempted to reinforce existing military forces in Kunduz, which had fallen under Taliban control on September 28. Further north from here, on the road to Kunduz, the government forces were held up for days by Taliban ambushes and roadside bombs. Three weeks later the city is back in Government hands and the roads open and passable. Photo: @everydayasia 19.10.2015. #baghlan #Afghanistan #Kunduz
