Cold, wet, exhausted. Families are suffering in the rain. But imagine having a medical condition, an injury, recovering from a surgery, while in a tent that is submerged in water.

This is what this girl is facing. In other circumstances she would still be in a hospital, however in Gaza she is discharged into a makeshift tent, facing flooding around her, freezing cold water, and crying in extreme pain. She has Familial Mediterranean Fever, an auto inflammatory disease marked by episodes of fever and pain in the stomach, chest, or joints. It can feel like an appendix attack, and during one of this girl’s episodes she had part of her intestines removed, a botched surgery that left her in pain.
