Central American immigrants hide in the bush on the Mexican side of the border after illegally crossing the #Suchiate River between #Guatemala and #Mexico. The migration of Guatemalans to the United States increased during the 80’s and 90’s, due to the bad economy and the internal armed conflict. It is estimated that there are 1.8 million Guatemalans in the United States and 75,000 living in Mexico. United States deported 51,000 Guatemalans in 2014. /
Inmigrantes centroamericanos se esconden de la policía entre el monte, despues de cruzar el Río Suchiate ilegalmente entre Guatemala y México. La migración guatemalteca hacia Estados Unidos aumentó durante los años ochentas y noventas, debido a la mala economía y el conflicto armado interno, se calcula que hay 1.8 millones de guatemaltecos en Estados Unidos y 75 mil en México. Estados Unidos deportó 51 mil guatemaltecos en el 2014 y México deportó a más de 40 mil.
