Flying home. A plane lands at the LAX airport. Up in the air, efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions are outpaced by the sharp growth in air traffic. Cheap plane tickets and non-functioning carbon tax are fueling both demand and capacity to a dangerous level. According to IATA, demand rose almost six percent in 2014, with over half of the growth occuring in emerging markets.
I’ll repost my plane pic to remind all participants at the COP21 that as they now head back to their respective countries to make good on the pledges made in Paris, change starts with you. More precise; you, me, everyone have to change our habits in order to fight global warming.
