I've seen some chaos in my time, but the 3878m high Salang Tunnel was putting on a show today, paved with 3km of slick, frozen mud. Add hundreds of Toyota Corollas with bald tyres, weary drivers and squashed human cargo, overloaded jingle trucks and horn-blasting military convoys, and you've got yourself a serious party.
